Summerfest 2015: Getting to the Big Gig…and the acts you can see while you’re there
MILWAUKEE -- Summerfest 2015 is here! The Big Gig will officially kick off on Wednesday, June 24th — with the gates opening at noon.
Keeping summer construction in mind, specifically the Hoan Bridge Project, here are some tips to help ensure ease of travel and parking availability.
Officials are encouraging folks to utilize public transportation — as parking is and will be an issue in downtown Milwaukee throughout Summerfest’s 11-day run.
Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) offers easy options that get you straight to the gates of Summerfest. Catch an MCTS Freeway Flyer or an Ozaukee County Express from designated parking lots. You can also take advantage of the MCTS Downtown Shuttle along Wisconsin Avenue and park within walking distance of a Shuttle stop. Or, you can ride a local bus route and walk a short distance to the Summerfest Grounds.
For a list of Park-Ride lots and weekday and weekend Freeway Flyer schedules, visit RideMCTS.com or call (414) 344-6711 for 24-hour automated bus information.
