St. Paul Avenue Bridge closed for rehabilitation project

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Beginning Tuesday, September 3, the City of Milwaukee will rehabilitate the St. Paul bridge, which spans the Milwaukee River. It will remain closed until June 2014.

The rehab work includes:

Architectural enhancements include a new bridge house roof, pedestrian railings, and pier planters.

Businesses and agencies in the Historic Third Ward east of the river as well as those located west of the bridge – the Pritzlaff Building, BP gas station, the U. S. Post Office, AMTRAK station, etc. - are open for business during construction. The City’s Support for Business program is providing signage throughout the area to help direct motorists and pedestrians to these destinations.
