A farewell gift? Herb Kohl hands out checks to BMO Harris Bradley Center employees

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Before his ownership of the Milwaukee Bucks comes to an end, Herb Kohl is putting his money where his mouth is!

Along with a letter of appreciation, the soon-to-be former owner of Milwaukee's NBA team has doled out some big "bucks" to some unsuspecting employees.

Over the weekend, some of those who work at the BMO Harris Bradley Center tell FOX6 News they received communication from the Kohl Foundation.

It details the former U.S. Senator's gratitude for their efforts to enhance the experience of those supporting the Bucks.

Checks -- in varying dollar amounts, were issued to the addresses.

"After I see that it is a real check, I'm like, 'Oh, he really appreciated what people did for him with the Bucks team,'" one employee who received money said.

Steve Costello, the president and CEO of the BMO Harris Bradley Center released the following statement regarding Herb Kohl showing his appreciation for BMO Harris Bradley Center employees:

"The employees of the BMO Harris Bradley Center are like family to Senator Kohl, and this was a way for him to demonstrate his appreciation. We are most grateful for this very thoughtful gesture."
