Some who have big events scheduled for Sunday are now planning to accommodate Packers fans

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It's safe to say most people in Wisconsin will make sure they're in front of a television this Sunday afternoon, January 18th to take in the Packers vs. Seahawks NFC Championship matchup in Seattle. But what about those venues that have big events scheduled for Sunday afternoon? Organizers are now working to accommodate Packers fans.

Planning a wedding takes months! You have to pick a venue, make sure food and drink are taken care of, and work to ensure everything will be perfect for your big day.

Then, you realize the Green Bay Packers will be playing a playoff game...on your wedding day!

That kind of a scenario is what folks at the Country Springs Hotel are dealing with this week.

"The brides and grooms are worried that all of a sudden they won't have the guests that RSVPed because of the Packers game," Country Springs Hotel Catering Manager Tera Sagen said.

Fortunately -- there are options!

"People in Wisconsin love their Packers, so in order to accommodate we get the TVs with the cabling and make that Packers game happen during their event. When there is that touchdown, you hear the room just roar," Sagen said.

Folks at the Waukesha County Expo Center are also planning on accommodating Packers fans this weekend. They'll broadcast the game over the loud speakers while folks shop at the annual Waukesha Expo Market Collectibles and Flea Style Show on Sunday.

"I was rooting for the Packers because being a home boy, you want to see the Packers go, but on the down side I`m thinking 'oh boy here we go!'" Show Promoter Jeff Herbert said.

Not wanting anyone to have to chose the game over the show, organizers decided to combine the two as much as possible.

"They can shop and have fun with the Packers at the same time -- and by the way, there will be a lot of Packers collectible memorabilia as well," Herbert said.

The annual Waukesha Expo Market Collectibles and Flea Style Show takes place at the Waukesha County Fairgrounds Arena at 1000 Northview Road in Waukesha from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $5 per person, or $3 with two non-perishable food items, which will benefit the Hunger Task Force.
