Skydiving plane makes emergency landing in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT -- A skydiving plane was forced to make an emergency landing after developing some mechanical problems on Saturday, August 25th.

The 41-year-old pilot reported the problems with the twin-engine plane around 9:30 a.m., shortly after skydivers exited the plane.

The pilot attempted to return the plane to the airfield where it took off, but was forced to land on Highway 11 just east of I-94. That was close enough to the airport that the plane could be towed back to the facility.

The FAA is now investigating the matter.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
