"Shop with a Cop" brightens the holidays for kids

WEST MILWAUKEE -- Some good will goes a long way in West Milwaukee. Police officers there reach out to some kids who are facing a tough Christmas at home.

On Saturday, officers took part in the second annual "Shop with a Cop" event. Police chose 16 kids to take shopping, for free!  The Target store also donated $100 to each child.

Nine-year-old Abby Houck was paired with Officer Donavan. The last time the two first met was July 30th, on Abby's birthday.  Unfortunately, it was also the day Abby lost her mom to a heart attack during her party. West Milwaukee police remembered Abby and this year they made sure she was one of the 16 kids picked to "Shop with a Cop."

The kids and their families were also treated to a donated, free meal. Many of the kids were nominated by their schools for financial reasons, so this trip was for their own holiday gifts.
