Sheriff's officials conducting death investigation at Ozaukee Co. Jail

OZAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- Ozaukee County Sheriff's officials are conducting a death investigation after an inmate was found unresponsive in a single cell holding unit at the Ozaukee County Jail.

Officials say 53-year-old Emanuel Washington of Grafton was found unresponsive in his cell just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday, August 11th.

CPR was performed, until he died around 3:30 a.m.

Washington was taken into custody on August 7th by the Grafton Police Department of OWI.

He was currently in custody on a probation hold through the Department of Corrections.

The investigation into Washington's death is ongoing.
