KENOSHA COUNTY (WITI) -- Kenosha County Sheriff's officials responded to a fatal crash involving an ATV on Tuesday, July 1st.
It happened around 4:00 p.m. on Highway NN and Highway EW in the Town of Salem -- just northeast of Paddock Lake.
Sheriff's officials say a 51-year-old man was operating an ATV, when for an unknown reason, he crashed the ATV and suffered serious injuries.
A passerby came upon the crash scene and alerted authorities, but the man died at the scene.
The man, whom Sheriff's officials say was a resident of Kenosha County was not wearing a helmet.
His name is not being released at this time.
Sheriff's officials say there are no indications alcohol or drugs played a role in this incident -- but a Medical Examiner will be performing toxicology tests.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
