Sheriff Clarke joined St. Marcus students, staff for special 9/11 memorial

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One elementary school took part in a special memorial on Thursday, September 11th.

St. Marcus Lutheran School Main Campus students, staff and parents walked in silence from the school’s main campus  to the Engine 21 firehouse on N. Palmer Street.

Jon Boche gave a short address to the student body, staff, parents and local firefighters at Engine 21 outside of the firehouse about the importance and relevance of the day.

At 8:46 a.m. the St. Marcus Church bells were rung and a moment of silence was observed, in remembrance of the first plane that flew into the World Trade Center.

St. Marcus students then presented local firefighters with thank you cards and posters before walking north up Palmer Street to St. Marcus.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke was also in attendance and  joined St. Marcus students, staff and parents in observance of September 11.
