Sheboygan Mayor Ryan, Van Akkeren to debate Thursday night

SHEBOYGAN -- A mayoral debate will take place Thursday night in Sheboygan between two candidates, one trying to keep his job and the other trying to take it.

Incumbent Mayor Bob Ryan and Former State Representative Terry Van Akkeren were the top two finishers in last month's recall primary. The two actually faced each other in Sheboygan's last race for mayor.

The recall effort against Bob Ryan comes after Ryan drew criticism for going on a drinking binge in Elkhart Lake last summer.

The February 9th debate will be held at 7 p.m. in the Stefanie Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan. The election is February 21st.
