Sheboygan man convicted of Medicaid fraud

SHEBOYGAN -- Andy Yang of Sheboygan was convicted on three counts of Medicaid fraud Wednesday, December 12th.

According the criminal complaint,  Andy Yang, who is not a certified medical caregiver, received a waiver from Wisconsin Medicaid to provide in-home personal cares for his aunt through Tongxeng Personal Home Healthcare.

The complaint indicates that between January 2010 and December of 2011 Yang submitted timesheets and care reports indicating he provided cares to his aunt on 399 different days between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.  An investigation showed that during that time span Yang was also employed by three different automotive repair shops, and had been clocked in at  those locations during the hours he claimed to be providing cares to his aunt.

On November 6th Yang enter pleas of no contest in a Sheboygan County Circuit Court. On December 11th a judge withheld sentence and placed Yang on probation for two years on all counts, and imposed 60 days conditional jail time.

The court further ordered restitution in the amount of $7,500.
