Sheboygan firefighters rescue woman, dog from house fire

SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- Sheboygan firefighters rescued a woman and her dog from a house fire on N. 12th St. late Saturday night, March 15th.

Crews were dispatched to the house fire around 9:45 p.m. Saturday. They say they saw smoke and flames from several blocks away. When they arrived on scene they could see flames coming out of the back of the house. They also saw a woman on the second floor. Crews rescued her and her dog using the ladder truck.

The woman suffered a minor burn on her hand but was not transported to the hospital.

Crews remained on scene for about 6 hours. Fire damage occurred to the rear exterior of the home, a rear porch, the second floor, the attic, and the roof.

There is no damage estimate at this time and the fire is still under investigation.
