Second expansion this year: Mercury Marine leases new 70,000 square foot space in Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC -- Mercury Marine continues to expand in Fond du Lac.

The company has leased a new 70,000 square foot space. That means it now occupies more than 2.5 million square feet in the city.

This is the company's second local expansion this year.

In 2009, the company almost moved the Fond du Lac operation to Stillwater, Oklahoma in a contract dispute with its union.

Another vote by union workers eventually reversed course -- keeping the company in Fond du Lac.
