Search is on for person who fired upon hunters
WALWORTH CO. -- Walworth County deputies called off the search for a man they say fired a shot at two hunters in a wooded area near Tamarack Rd. in southern Kettle Moraine Saturday morning.
Officials say the shot was fired at the hunters around 8:30 a.m.
A caller told dispatchers he and his father were legally hunting deer and wearing blaze orange. The father told his son another unknown male hunter wearing camouflage or similar clothing fired at him once with a handgun. The father fired back with his 30-06 hunting rifle.
Right now, investigators don't know if this is a case of a random guy who shot at hunters.
Neither the father nor son was hurt. Deputies say it's unknown whether the other male was hurt.
Authorities are conducted a full search of the area using SWAT and K9 teams, wardens and a police helicopter. They stopped their search at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
