Search for 4th missing Illinois man continues in Town of East Troy
TOWN OF EAST TROY — Recovery crew members were walking the shores of a southern Wisconsin lake Wednesday, January 6th in their search for a fourth missing man from Illinois.
The bodies of three other men have been recovered from Mill Lake in Walworth County since the four were reported missing Sunday.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said ice conditions on the lake were poor Wednesday. The DNR said divers walking on the ice near the shore were breaking through.
State officials say the four friends, ages 20 to 23, left a lake house where they were spending the weekend and apparently took a canoe out on the lake in the middle of the night and never returned.
The canoe was later spotted overturned in the lake, which is about 35 miles southwest of Milwaukee.
