San Diego Navy hospital searched after report of armed man

SAN DIEGO — Naval Medical Center San Diego security is investigating a report that an armed man was spotted at the facility.

Spokesman Michael Wiener says the call came in around 7:30 a.m. Thursday, so precautions have been taken.

The hospital posted on its Facebook page that no shots have been fired, staff are sheltering in place and employees and patients en route should not come to facility until the scene is cleared.

In January someone reported hearing gunshots at the facility, but a search turned up nothing.
