MILWAUKEE (WITI)--It's been more than a week since a tornado ripped through Moore, Oklahoma. Homes are wiped up, neighborhoods are filled with rubble. As the clean-up continues, the need for support is great.
"I`m eager to go down there and see if there`s something I can do to help," volunteer Jeannine Peters said.
It is Peters first time volunteering for the American Red Cross. She is a newly retired nurse.
"Since I`ve left the hospital, I feel like I need to be doing something to make a difference for somebody," Peters said.
Peters will meet with four other volunteers from Southeast Wisconsin and a team of others. She will help with health services.
"There's a big need and we continue to be there until the needs are all met," Red Cross spokesperson Sara Bruesewitz said.
Peters will return June 11th.
