MILWAUKEE -- Senator Leah Vukmir (R-Wauwatosa) spent part of the morning on Thursday, March 31st reading to children at the downtown Milwaukee health center.
The event was part of "Reach Out and Read Milwaukee."
The program involves doctors "prescribing" books, and encouraging families to read together.
It begins with a child's six-month checkup.
The goal is that each child starts kindergarten with a home library of up to 10 books.
