MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- In an effort to raise funds for Milwaukee’s 2013 Marine Corps Birthday Ball, Ride Entertainment Group (REG) kicks off a raffle to win a 2013 Harley-Davidson 1200 Sportster motorcycle on Friday, July 26th.
The raffle is the first in a series of events and activities to support the local November 9th Ball.
Each year in cities across the nation, Marine Corps units host a formal ceremony marking the founding of the Marine Corps. The formal ceremony is followed by a social event, the Birthday Ball, which cannot be paid for with taxpayer funds. As no tax dollars can be used and Marines are barred from soliciting support in their official capacity, the cost of the Ball is covered through ticket sales. With catering, venue rental and other expenses adding up, the necessary ticket costs can be unaffordable for some Marines. Through their efforts, Ride Entertainment hopes to subsidize event costs and make sure that all local Marines are able to attend.
The 2013 Milwaukee Marine Corps Birthday Ball will take place on Saturday, November 9th at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson. The event is a private, formal function for local Marines and their guests.
The raffle for the 2013 Harley-Davidson Sportster will kick off on Friday, July 26th and run until Saturday, November 2nd. Tickets may be purchased at any of the Ride Entertainment Group venues, special events or online at MilwaukeeHarley.com. Tickets are $20 for one and $50 for three. The drawing for prizes will be held at Noon, at Milwaukee Harley-Davidson on Friday, November 8th. Winner need not be present to win.
