Racine woman accused of stalking man, pouring gas on porch
RACINE (WITI) -- A 55-year-old Racine woman faces multiple charges including stalking, disorderly conduct and negligent handling of a burning material. The accused is Judith Peterson and the charges are in connection with an incident that happened in August 2012.
The criminal complaint against Peterson indicates she went to the home of a former boyfriend and poured gasoline on the porch and children's bikes on that porch.
The former boyfriend and his current girlfriend came home from being away, noticed the odor of gasoline, and called police.
While police were investigating the incident at the Racine home, the complaint indicates Peterson called a couple of times wanting to talk with her old boyfriend. Police told her she shouldn't be calling the number anymore.
The complaint indicates officers found out where Peterson lives and went to see her. When they arrived, she apparently was swaying back and forth and had slurred speech. She was later taken to the Racine County Jail where her alcohol concentration registered .23 -- or nearly three times the legal limit for driving.
If convicted, Peterson faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
