Racine Sheriff's official injured following crash in Town of Dover

RACINE (WITI) --  A Racine County Sheriff’s Office command official was involved in an accident at the intersection of STH 20/Washington Avenue and STH 75/Beaumont Avenue in the Town of Dover Tuesday night, January 28th.

According to officials, the command official who was operating the patrol car received minor injuries in the accident and was transported by rescue for treatment.

It is believed the driver of the other vehicle involved, a 22-year-old male from Kansasville, failed to yield the right-of-way.  The driver of this other vehicle was not injured; he was also not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The driver refused rescue at the scene and claimed no seat belt. At this time it is not believed that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the scene and is currently investigating the accident.
