Racine man arrested for 16th time for driving with a revoked license

CALEDONIA (WITI) -- Caledonia police arrested 22-year-old Macquell Brown of Racine on Wednesday morning, June 5th during a traffic stop.

Brown was pulled over for allegedly doing 51 miles an hour in a 35 m.p.h. speed zone. But a check of Brown's driver's record showed his driving status was revoked -- and this offense would be his 16th.

He was caught near Green Bay Road and River Bend Drive in Caledonia.

"I was actually on my way to work. I wasn't driving just for the fun of it. I was actually on my way to work that's why, and I didn't have no other way," Brown told FOX6 News on Wednesday.

When asked how he usually gets to work, Brown replied: "I drive."

In April, Brown was caught by Caledonia police for the 15th time.

"He was clocked on a radar at 96 miles-an-hour in a 30 speed zone. He was also an intoxicated motorist, so he was arrested for drunk driving," a Caledonia police official told FOX6 News.

Brown told FOX6 News he has finally learned his lesson.

"I am responsible. I wanted to go to work. I wanted to pay my bills and I didn't want to not pay them and that's the only way I could go," Brown said.

As his white Buick sat in his parking lot -- Brown said he isn't sure how he's going to get to work now -- saying "that's a good question."

"This guy doesn't have insurance either. If you encounter this guy, and you have an accident, you're the one holding the bag," a Caledonia police official said.
