Potawatomi Tribe purchases closed Cargill plant near its hotel and casino

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Potawatomi Tribe is buying the closed Cargill plant near its Milwaukee hotel and casino.

According to state records, Potawatomi bought the property for $6.3 million.

The Cargill plant closed in August of last year.

The Potawatomi haven't decided on redevelopment plans for the properties.

The tribe will not have the option of using it for gaming, which is limited to land in federal trust.
