Possible killing spree? Second female body pulled from Rock River

JANESVILLE (WITI) -- At 4:41 p.m. Friday afternoon, May 9th the Janesville Police Department received a call from a citizen saying that a body was in the water of the Rock River near 815 S. Washington Street.

Deputy Chief Dan Davis says the body recovered from the river is a woman who appears to be at least 60-years-old. The body has no obvious signs of trauma.

It is still unknown if the body is that of 75-year-old Mary Coulthard, who has been missing for nearly a week.

An autopsy is being scheduled and the investigation is ongoing.

It is not yet known, but there is a possibility this body could be linked to Clayton Courtney — the Janesville man who was brought into custody on Sunday, May 5th after he stabbed his roommate, and then admitted to killing three people. On Monday, May 6th Janesville police identified a body discovered near a Rock River bridge.

Police say they are not ruling out Clayton Courtney as a potential suspect in the case concerning the first body, but no charges have been filed.
