Police recover body from Crawfish River in Milford Township
MILFORD TOWNSHIP (WITI) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Dive Team has recovered the body of a drowning victim from the Crawfish River in Milford Township. The victim, 76-year-old Thomas Latiker of Milwaukee had been reported missing from a capsized boat Sunday, August 4th.
According to officials, the Sheriff's Office received a report that Latiker and his brother had been fishing on the Crawfish River when movement in the boat reportedly caused it to capsize.
The two men attempted to cling to the boat and get it to shore. Latiker's brother stated that as they near shore, Latiker let got of the boat and was floating in the river. Latiker's brother walked to a local residence to report the accident.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Dive Team was assisted by the Lake Mills Fire Department and EMS, Watertown Fire Department and the Jefferson Fire Department who assisted with boats and personnel.
