Police investigate attempted armed robbery, shooting

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- West Allis police are searching for a male suspect in connection with an attempted armed robbery and shooting that occurred at a residence on S. 59th St. near Greenfield Avenue Thursday, March 28th.

According to police, an African-American male with handgun forced entry into a home on S. 59th St. around 4 a.m. and demanded money and guns from the residents.

According to officials,  one resident sustained a gunshot wound to the arm after a physical altercation with the suspect. The suspect fled the home after the shot was fired.

The victim of the shooting was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation by officers
and detectives of the West Allis Police Department.
