Police arrest armed robbery suspect after chase

GLENDALE -- An armed robbery suspect was arrested after a vehicle pursuit led police through Mequon and Grafton Tuesday night, April 3rd.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. Tuesday,  Glendale police squads were sent to Cousins Subs on Port Washington Road in reference to a robbery of the business. As police were checking the area, a suspect fitting the description of the robbery suspect was spotted driving a pickup truck near Green Bay Road and Hampton Avenue. Police attempted to stop the suspect, but the suspect refused and continued to drive.

Authorities say the pursuit continued northbound through several jurisdictions until the suspect crashed their vehicle on Highway W near State Highway 32. After the suspect crashed his vehicle, he fled the scene on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody and turned over to Glendale police.

Saukville police, Grafton police, Mequon police, and Wisconsin State Patrol assisted on the scene.

Officials say charges against the suspect will be sought through the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the next few weeks.
