Plymouth man accused of threatening officer with gesture, saying 'Bang, bang, got ya'

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY -- 31-year-old Ethan Kaulaity of Plymouth is accused of threatening a law enforcement officer in an incident that happened on Tuesday evening, July 26th.

According to the criminal complaint, an officer was parked in the former Plymouth Utilities parking lot on South Milwaukee St. around 9:00 p.m.  The officer was conducting traffic enforcement.

The complaint indicates Kaulaity drove past the officer. He "pointed his left arm in an upward manner toward (the officer), with his pointer finger out and thumb upward, mimicking having a gun in his hand. While doing so, the defendant stated, 'Bang, bang, got ya, next time it's for real.'"

The officer grew concerned Kaulaity would actually follow through with the threat, says the complaint, as "he has threatened law enforcement numerous times in the past."

Around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28th, Plymouth police located Kaulaity and took him into custody. The complaint indicates he "acknowledged making those statements and gestures" to the officer. Kaulaity told the arresting officer that he was "just joking around."

If convicted, Kaulaity faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
