Peck family purchases Laacke & Joys building on Water Street
MILWAUKEE -- The Peck family has purchased the Laacke & Joys building in Milwaukee's Park East Corridor.
The family known for its philanthropic work in Milwaukee purchased the building for nearly $2.6 million.
The four-story white building is located on Water Street between Cherry and Pleasant, and is leased to Laacke & Joys, which has a store in the building and uses the upper floors for manufacturing.
A Peck family spokesman says he hopes Laacke & Joys will stay on the property.
Laacke & Joys didn't respond to a call for comment, but a few months back, company president Marsha Mather said their lease expires in October of next year, and the company is looking for a new location for its manufacturing operations.
