Parents of Cudahy students alerted to "rumor" of violence at the high school
CUDAHY -- The Cudahy School District alerted parents of students on Wednesday, November 18th about a rumor of violence at the high school.
The message to parents indicated there were two incidents that occurred recently. One was a comment that a student made to a peer -- the second was an "innocuous message" written on a desk.
District officials say there is no evidence that either of these events were related. However, officials say "conjecture and social media have created a rumor that there will be a 'shooting' at the high school."
Officials say "appropriate disciplinary action has been taken with the students involved in these two incidents." They say additional safety precautions will be taken in all Cudahy schools over the next several days.
