MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Green Bay Packers and Sargento raised a total of $100,500 during the 2012 season for the “Touchdowns for Charity” program to benefit the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee County and Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay.
During the regular season, Sargento donated $1,000 to the Wisconsin Hunger Task Force and $500 to Paul’s Pantry for each touchdown scored.
The program raised $53,000 for the Hunger Task Force and $26,500 for Paul’s Pantry (on 53 TDs). Sargento then raised the stakes in the postseason by doubling the touchdown contributions, resulting in an additional $21,000 donation (on seven TDs) toward fighting hunger in Wisconsin.
2012 marked the 10th anniversary of the program. Since partnering ten years ago, Sargento – the official cheese of the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field – has contributed $920,500 to the two Wisconsin food charities.
