Over 200K camping stoves sold at Walmart recalled after reports of explosions, burns

More than 200,000 Ozark camping stoves sold at Walmart have been recalled after reports that some of them exploded and caused second-degree burns.

According to federal regulators, the recall involves the Ozark Trail Tabletop 1-Burner Butane Camping stoves. The camping stoves, made by a company in Taiwan, are dark green with an orange "Ozark Trail" logo printed on the front.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 201,000 stoves have been recalled after 26 reports of them catching fire or exploding and 16 reports of injuries, including second-degree burns. The model number under recall is BG2247A1.

Timeline:

The stoves were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com from March 2023 through October 2025 for between $8 and $45.

What you can do:

Anyone who purchased the stove is urged to immediately stop using the recalled stoves and return the product to any Walmart retail store for a full refund.
