Out of control? Two hurt after serious crash

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Investigators were on the scene of a serious crash near the intersection of Hawley Road and State Street in Milwaukee on Sunday night, May 4th.

Milwaukee police say this was a single-vehicle crash -- and two people were taken to the hospital.

A 20-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and was conveyed for medical treatment. A 19-year-old woman sustained minor injuries.

Police say the vehicle went down an embankment. The driver lost control, struck a concrete barrier, flipped over and landed approximately 30 feet below.

Officials were on scene Sunday night, reconstructing the crash to determine exactly what happened.

Police had the street blocked off as they worked the crash scene, and also had some on ramps blocked -- which caused a bit of an inconvenience for travelers in the area.

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
