Operator of Art Institute of Wisconsin agrees to forgive the debt of nearly 1,000 students
MILWAUKEE -- The operator of the Art Institute of Wisconsin in Milwaukee has agreed to forgive the debt of nearly 1,000 students.
Those students had borrowed money to attend the for-profit college.
Under a settlement reached earlier this month, those students will have more than $900,000 in debt forgiven.
Earlier this year, the Art Institute's parent company announced that it would not accept new enrollments into its programs.
The college will close once the current students graduate.
