One woman injured after house fire in Kenosha

KENOSHA --  One woman was injured after a house fire broke out early Thursday morning, July 5th in Kenosha.

Authorities say the fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. at the 3900 block of 14th Avenue.

The first units to arrive on the scene reported heavy smoke and flames on the exterior of the home, on the first floor and on parts of the second floor.

The injured female occupant was rescued by firefighters and treated for serious thermal burns and transported to the hospital. Officials say no other occupants sustained injuries.

The Kenosha Fire Department says the house sustained extensive fire and smoke damage and is uninhabitable. Initial damage estimates to the home and contents exceed $60,000.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation by the Kenosha Fire Department's Fire Prevention Bureau.
