One in custody following armed robbery near

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Police were investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday evening, May 28th near 40th and North Ave.

Neighbors reportedly heard gunfire around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say two suspects approached victims and displayed a firearm before demanding property.

As the suspects fled, they crossed West Meinecke where a police vehicle was headed westbound when a suspect fired one round -- according to police.

Police swarmed the area, and had the area blocked off as they investigated the incident.

One person was taken into custody -- but it is unclear how this person was connected to the incident.
