Norweigan surgeon lucky to be alive following base jump mishap

NORWAY -- Richard Henriksen, a Norweigan surgeon is lucky to be alive following a mishap as he was set to perform a base jump near Eikesdal Cliff in Norway.

Henriksen was said to be only "centimeters from death" as he attempted the stunt.

Suddenly, the stand broke, flinging him over the edge of the cliff -- 1,200 meters above the ground.

One person who witnessed the accident said everyone was certain Henriksen had died, but he managed to open his parachute just seconds before smashing into the ground!
