Crews on scene of duplex fire in Shorewood

SHOREWOOD (WITI) -- North Shore Fire officials on Wednesday night, October 30th were on the scene of two separate incidents.

The first was a structure fire with one victim that broke out at a duplex in the 4400 block of N. Murray Ave. in Shorewood.

It happened around 9:00 p.m.

Officials say one person, a 90-year-old woman, was removed from the home. That woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say the fire apparently broke out in the back of the home. The woman reportedly lived on the first floor of the duplex, alone.

It is unclear whether those who live on the second floor of the duplex were home at the time of the fire.

The second incident keeping the North Shore Fire Department busy on Wednesday night was a rollover crash involving entrapment that occurred on N. Lake Drive and Green Tree Road in Fox Point.

Officials say one person was extricated from a heavily damaged car found rolled against a tree and only feet from active train tracks.

The person was taken to Froedtert Hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
