No contest plea: State Rep. Bill Kramer facing assault charges, reaches plea deal

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Wisconsin's former Assembly majority leader pleaded no contest on Thursday, October 23rd to sexual assault charges.

Republican State Representative Bill Kramer entered the plea Thursday morning after reaching a deal with prosecutors to reduce the charges to a misdemeanor.

Prosecutors say Kramer groped a woman outside a political event in Muskego in 2011. He was also accused of harassing two women at a Republican fundraiser in Washington, D.C. in February 2014.

Republicans stripped Kramer of his leadership position after the allegations surfaced, but he remains in office.

Kramer will be sentenced in November.
