New Macy's at Southridge opens Wednesday!
GREENDALE --- The new Macy's at Southridge Mall will open Wednesday, March 14th!
Macy's gave customers their first chance to shop inside the store on Saturday, March 10th. However, it wasn't the store's official opening just yet. Saturday was only a "Charity Shopping Day" for customers.
It's all in anticipation of Macy's Southridge Mall grand opening ribbon-cutting celebration on Wednesday, March 14.
The "Charity Shopping Day" allowed people to help their favorite local community organization while shopping. Organizations sold $5 "shopping pass tickets" to their supporters and get to keep all the proceeds. Ticket-holders then used their tickets to get a sneak preview of the brand new store and get exclusive discounts all day.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation was one organization that participated in the celebration. "They let us come out and try to raise money for children with life threatening diseases so we're very appreciative to them and all of the people who've come out today to raise more money for our foundation and for the other out here as well," Janis Sell with Make-A-Wish said.

MACY’S SOUTHRIDGE GRAND OPENING
March 14th – Macy’s Southridge
9AM to 6PM – Grand Opening Shopping Party – Discover your new Macy’s! Live DJ entertainment with register-to-wins every hour. Enjoy cosmetic giveaways and mini makeovers from your favorite cosmetic counters including Clinique, Estée Lauder and Lancôme.
3PM – Fun for the Kids! – Bring your camera to snap a photo with Hello Kitty and enjoy face painting and balloon artistry.
5:30PM – Spring Fashion Presentation – Enjoy a spring fashion presentation with Macy’s By Appointment Director John Bourgeois highlighting the hottest spring trends.
6:30PM – Macy’s Culinary Council Chef Tim Scott Public Appearance – Join Macy’s Culinary Council Chef Tim Scott as he demonstrates some great recipes. Chef Scott is the corporate chef for Macy’s and has helped develop the menus for restaurants and fresh food concepts across the country. Get the inside scoop on his recipes as well as his tips and tricks from the kitchen.
MACY'S SOUTHRIDGE FAMILY FUN DAY
March 17th – 1PM – Macy’s Southridge, 1st Floor, Children’s Department
Spend the afternoon of giggles and games with Radio Disney at Macy's Family Fun Day! Enjoy face painting, balloon twisting, crafts and costume character. Don’t forget your camera – “Shrek The Musical” is coming to Milwaukee Theatre from April 5th through 8th! Check out activities inspired by everyone's favorite ogre. The first 20 customers to make a purchase $100 or more in the children’s department will receive a pair of tickets to “Shrek The Musical”.
CLINTON KELLY PERSONAL APPEARANCE AND BOOK SIGNING
