New American citizens: 131 candidates from 44 countries take the Oath of Allegiance

MILWAUKEE -- 131 citizenship candidates from 44 countries officially became U.S. citizens on Thursday morning, March 8.

The downtown MATC campus hosted this U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services event -- where the citizenship candidates took the Oath of Allegiance.

The citizenship candidates are from the following countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Belize, Brazil, Burma, Canada, People’s Republic of China, Colombia, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Eritrea, India, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Jordan, Laos, Macedonia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Somalia, Spain, Suriname, Taiwan, Thailand, The Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam, and Yugoslavia.
