Neighbors in Texas community concerned over naked man living on mountain

EL PASO, Texas -- People in a Texas community are coming forward to talk about a man they say has them living in fear.

"There's a nude man actually inhabiting these ruins that are up in these mountains," hiker Chris Redfearn said.

Redfearn says while hiking, his group stumbled upon what appeared to be a cave dwelling. Once they started getting too close, Redfearn says a naked man jumped out of the cave and chased the men down the mountain.

Neighbors living at an apartment complex near the base of the mountain confirmed the unusual story, and also said they've been living in fear.

"Normally he's like wandering around, we never know what time he's going to show," one neighbor said.

Neighbors said they sometimes spot the man early in the morning bathing in their laundry room or working out on a nearby jungle gym. They suspect the mysterious man may have even swiped their clothes.

A CNN reporter stumbled upon the man on the mountain, who said he's been living on the mountain for three years. He said he's not hurting anyone and lives off donations and recycling cans.

"They need to worry about their own selves -- to repent and help the community more," the man said of the concerned neighbors.

The man never gave the news crew his name. The man is caught up on current events and was able to talk about things happening in the community.
