Motorcyclist hurt in crash involving wrong-way driver on I-94

MILWAUKEE -- A motorcycle rider was seriously hurt early Wednesday morning, October 3rd because of a wrong-way driving incident on I-94 near 25th St. in Milwaukee.

Authorities say an elderly woman driving an SUV was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-94 just after midnight. Along the way, she came upon a tow truck. Behind it was a motorcycle.

Police say the tow truck driver spotted the wrong-way driver and slowed down to avoid hitting the SUV. When the tow truck slowed down, the operator of the motorcycle crashed into the back of the truck.

The motorcyclist suffered serious facial and head injuries. He was unconscious and breathing, but not responsive at the scene. His condition has not been released since the crash.

The crash closed down the westbound lanes of I-94 at 20th Street for approximately an hour.
