Milwaukee Winter Fest now open at Delta Center downtown

MILWAUKEE -- Whether you're young or young at heart, there's something for just about everyone at Winter Fest! Winter Fest kicked off on the day after Christmas, Wednesday, December 26th. The indoor festival is held through December 31st at the Delta Center in downtown Milwaukee.

Winter Fest offers over 50 attractions for family members from tots to adults. This year's Winter Fest has new "zones" designed to match age groups and interests.

With more than 50 different rides, games, and activities, there is plenty to do.

"This is the longest week of the year for parents, so we're just looking for fun things to do and we came last year and loved it," parent Barbara Ali said.

Kids can burn off energy climbing a rock wall, roller skating, or jumping on the trampoline.

"I like screaming 'cannon ball' over and over and over again. It's really fun. You can make a lot of noise without mom yelling at you," 10-year-old Ally Gundrum said.

Also featured this year is a zip line. 12-year-old Isaac Hoeschen loved it!

"I thought it was really awesome. It was my first time on a zip line. I had never done it before and I don't know what I was expecting, but that was awesome," Hoeschen said.

For train lovers, there's one even adults can take for a ride at Winter Fest. There are also five carnival rides for thrill seekers.

"When I saw children turn the corner and their eyes light up and that gasp. They were so excited to see what was in this room and then they just went running," Professional Events and Consulting President Cheryl McShane said.

"Igloo Island" is set up for kids under five, and there are plenty of spots for family photo ops.

"I just can't wait to explore more of Winter Fest. It's going to be so fun," 11-year-old Max Hoeschen said.

With the holidays over, Winter Fest provides one more way to make some family memories before the kids head back to school.
