Milwaukee okays one-year pilot program for ads on city vehicles

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Common Council voted on Tuesday, October 16th to okay a one-year pilot program that would allow advertising on city vehicles. It's considered a new way to raise money for the city with some public benefit.

As part of the pilot program, the city will now determine which city vehicles would be best suited for advertising or marketing. Those could include street sweepers and snow plows. Aldermen will also determine which of the vehicles offers the best short-term and long-term commercial value for the city.

The program also calls for developing a marking plan for city vehicles and seeking our commercial partners for advertising.
