Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Show has visitors thinking Spring

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- State Fair Park's Wisconsin Exposition Center played host to the 52nd Milwaukee/NARI Spring Home Improvement Show! Despite the fact that we're still in the midst of winter -- with another round of snow on its way as we start this work week, this annual Spring Home Show had visitors planning for warmer weather that -- though it may not feel like it, is right around the corner.

The Milwaukee/NARI Spring Home Show features more than 700 exhibit spaces with the latest remodeling innovations and educational seminars by home improvement experts and national and local media celebrities.

From backyards to bathrooms, grilling areas to garages, more than 300 NARI members shared their ideas at the Wisconsin Expo Center this weekend.

"We like to inspire people, you know, and say Spring is coming! You can see that lightbulb go off in their head and they go 'Oh yeah! I miss this! I can do this in my backyard!'" Dean Pipito with "Aquatica" said.

"People get really excited because they can envision possibilities for their own home. We have products on display. We have knowledgeable professionals who can talk about 'how can we make this work in your house?' And the enthusiasm is just contagious!" David Pekel, the President of the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council said.

David Kittleson with Closet Concepts has been attending the show for 27 years.

"We call it 'neutral ground.' You're not in my showroom. I'm not in your house -- so it's a very open atmosphere. We like to talk, so it's nice to have people in here. They can touch things. They can see how things work," Kittleson said.

Tens of thousands of visitors attended the four-day event.

"We want the biggest bang for our buck,a nd we can come and knock it all out without having to go to each store and each company and talk to every person independently. That would take us forever!" Carleen Paprocki said.

Instead, it only takes one trip to the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Show.
