Milwaukee has gone through half of its salt supply for winter

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Southeast Wisconsin has seen more snow than usual by this time in the season. But there is not much concern at the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works.

Sandy Rusch Walton of the DPW says the city has gone through about half of its road salt supply so far this winter. The city's vendor is apparently confident it will be able to keep the city supplied with rock salt through the winter months.

Since December 1, 2013, Milwaukee has received 26.7 inches of snow as measured at Mitchell International Airport. Our normal snowfall by this time of the season is about 16 inches.
