Milwaukee Blitzdkrieg Men's Roller Derby kicks off 2015 season

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Look out ladies, guys are now getting into the roller derby action! Saturday morning, the Milwaukee Blitzdkrieg home season started.

Milwaukee Blitzdkrieg is the men's roller derby league. And today, the Great Lakes Pirates went head-to-head with the Half Barrel Heroes this morning.

The guys say the sport is just part of the fun in this league.

"They family effect that we get with each other, we're kind of a large group of people that I would have never had the opportunity to meet without this and we are able to stand with each other, grow with each other,  and beyond that we get to hit things! That's obviously a bonus," said Nicholas Becker, with the Milwaukee Blitzdkrieg.
