Military children seek comfort at Camp Yellow Ribbon
OCONOMOWOC (WITI) -- It's a summer camp with games, arts and crafts, and a whole lot of fun. But all of these kids have something in common, they've all experienced missing a parent deployed in the military.
The father of Collin and Samantha Schmocker has been in Afghanistan for the past eight months.
"Sometimes I'm a little sad and sometimes I'm fine with it," says 10-year-old Collin Schmocker.
Camp Yellow Ribbon is a week-long summer program put on by Easter Seals Southeast Wisconsin.
The children build confidence and learn how to express their emotions in a positive way through crafts like decorating super hero capes.
