MFD Coats for Kids raise more than $48,000 in three day period

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department  announced Friday, June 28th the results of the three day Coats for Kids fundraising event from June 20-22.

Firefighters from all over the City of Milwaukee hit the streets to collect money to purchase brand new coats for needy students in Milwaukee Public Schools.

More than $48,000 was raised over the three day period.

Coats will be distributed this fall to students in Milwaukee Public Schools. The schools will be chosen based upon the greatest need as determined by MPS administration.
